Kindergartners at Basswood ElementaryFall (one year before your child will start kindergarten)

Attend the Kindergarten Information Fair

Learn about all-day kindergarten in Osseo Area Schools and enjoy activities for the whole family.

Set up your child’s required Early Childhood Screening appointment

Help ensure your child is well equipped to start kindergarten. At the free screening appointment, parents learn about their child’s growth and development and can ask questions if they have concerns. Screening includes a check of vision, hearing, and developmental progress and a review of immunizations.* We will go over your child’s screening results and share resources with you and your family. Schedule your appointment today by calling: 763-391-8777 or visiting:

Complete and return enrollment materials

Download enrollment forms or complete the forms you’ll receive in the mail in December. Turn in your completed forms during regular office hours at any of our 17 elementary schools or the Enrollment Center, located at 7051 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. The Enrollment Center offers a one-stop shop for enrollment, with an on-site immunization clinic and other services. If your student wishes to attend a school outside their attendance area or lives outside of the Osseo Area Schools attendance area, apply by Jan. 15 to be considered in the first lottery. Visit this webpage for more information.

Update your child’s immunizations

State law requires written proof that kindergartners have been immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP); measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); polio; varicella (chicken pox); and hepatitis B. If you have questions about these immunizations or the free immunization clinic, please call our Enrollment Center at 763-585-7350.  *

*Legal exemptions are allowed, both for medical reasons and conscientiously held beliefs.
