The ISD 279 School Board will host a virtual listening session on Monday, May 10, from 7- 8:30 p.m.
The purpose of school board listening sessions is to allow board members to listen deeply to better understand community perspectives. Listening sessions are not designed for problem solving or decision making; rather, school board members seek to understand perspectives and interests, which will help them make informed decisions in the future.
The May 10 virtual listening session will be conducted by Google Meet; here is the link to join. The session is open to all district students, families, staff and residents. The maximum number of virtual listening session participants is 200.
Please submit a speaker request form if you have a topic you would like to bring to the school board’s attention. Submitting the form is not a requirement to participate in the listening session. Those who submit the form will be called on individually by the board chair; others logged in to the session will then be invited to comment as time permits . Deadline to submit the speaker request form is 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 9.
The virtual listening session will not be livestreamed or recorded.
