Students from Ukraine visited Osseo Area Schools, meeting the students and teachers and experiencing a day in the schools. These international students were a part of the YouLEAD 2022 program, sponsored by Global Synergy Group.
The students in the YouLEAD program shadowed students from OSH on Monday and PCSH on Tuesday, attending all of their classes and lunch. The Ukrainian students noted that they enjoyed meeting all of the people and attending classes that were different from what they had experienced before, like health and art.
By the end of the school day, the students from Osseo Area Schools and Ukraine had built real relationships, exchanging contact information and social media and giving each other handshakes and hugs as they said goodbye.
“It was so fun meeting all of the teachers and students, everyone was so nice!” said Ksyusha, one of the students in the YouLead program.
On Monday after school, the Ukrainian students met with Superintendent McIntyre to talk about their favorite part of the day, what it takes to be a leader and ask questions about school and life in the United States.
