Who doesn’t enjoy taking a pie to the face to start the workday? Hopefully that’s what Maple Grove Middle School administrators were thinking Nov. 3, as they gamely tied plastic bags around their clothing and had several pies smushed into their faces as a reward for students, who hit fundraising targets during their recent fall fundraiser.
Principal Pat Smith and assistant principals Jennifer Hinker and Jason Olson took center stage in the school’s auditorium, where pre-selected students took turns landing banana cream pies in their administrators faces. The school was able to hit their fundraising goal this fall, which will be used for student leadership and school culture efforts, social events, service project opportunities for scholars, staff appreciation and special projects.
