Birch Grove named 2020 National Magnet School of Distinction

Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts has been named a 2020 National Magnet School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America (MSA), the national association for magnet and theme-based schools.

Schools receiving these awards are judged on their demonstrated ability to raise student achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and foster strong partnerships that enhance the school’s theme.

Principal Dr. Ronald Salazar and Birch Grove will be honored during during MSA's 38th National Conference on Magnet Schools from April 27-30.

About Birch Grove

Birch Grove is an elementary arts magnet school that integrates visual arts, music, drama and dance into the classroom curriculum while providing value-added opportunities in the arts. Students receive daily standards-based instruction with arts specialists and have the opportunity to participate in arts elective classes, performing troupes, early-entrance band and orchestra, and an all-school musical.
