PCSH-Learning-Commons-1Park Center has transformed its media center into a more collaborative and creative learning space featuring Collaboration Stations with monitors for individuals to share the contents of their mobile devices, a MakerSpace, a 3D printer and 3D scanner. On Dec. 3, staff and students explored the new equipment and learned how the reconfigured space is designed to provide a place to collaborate, create, discover, research, study, share and enjoy learning.

Additional new aspects of the space include: charging stations for mobile devices; a large format flatbed scanner; new carpeting; and more space for student art displays.

The name, “Park Center Learning Commons,” was submitted in a naming contest by 2014 graduate Tyler Linton. Teacher Paul Shriver is credited with the tag line: “The Nexus of the School.”
