Osseo Area Schools, in partnership with Brooklyn Center Community Schools, will host its 23rd Annual American Indian Education Day and Wacipi on Saturday, April 28, from noon to 6 p.m. at Osseo Middle School.
Featuring artisan exhibits, demonstrations, Native American dance, food and more, this annual celebration of American Indian culture gives attendees a chance to experience North America’s rich indigenous history. Danza, Park Center Senior High’s indigenous student circle, will perform at the event, and a special ceremony to honor local American Indian graduating seniors is planned.
Educators are encouraged to attend the event to receive a free resource guide on Minnesota American Indian history and culture, as well as personalized support for incorporating new material into existing lesson plans in accordance with state standards.
The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. Osseo Middle School is located at 10223 93rd Ave. N, Osseo.
