As part of a 10-year $235 million capital investment, five schools recently saw major renovations. Park Brook, Garden City, and Zanewood elementary schools received nearly total makeovers, with highlights including classroom renovations, heating and ventilation systems, hallways, bathrooms, and exterior repairs. Alterations were made to pre-kindergarten classrooms at eight elementary school sites to standardize room sizes and to renovate or add age-appropriate restrooms to each classroom.  At Osseo Middle School, students are benefiting from some classroom and bathroom renovations, and a brighter cafeteria due to updated lighting and finishes. Park Center Senior High renovation highlights include some classrooms, some bathrooms, a new student entrance and, by later this fall, a completely renovated auditorium. In addition, annual system-wide investments in paving, exterior envelope, roofing, interior and exterior lighting, and mechanical systems continue throughout the 10-year plan. The long-term deferred maintenance plan, which will touch every building in the district over the life of the plan, will help preserve the community’s investment in school facilities.
