Applications for the 2017 CDF Freedom Schools® Program, an initiative of the Children's Defense Fund, are being accepted until the program is full. Spaces remain available for children in kindergarten through second grade; there is a waiting list for grades 3-7.
The CDF Freedom Schools Program provides summer enrichment that helps children fall in love with reading, increases their self-esteem, and generates more positive attitudes toward learning. Currently enrolled Osseo Area Schools students who have completed grades K-7 are eligible to apply.
The summer program runs from June 19-July 27, hosted at Fair Oaks Elementary. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the program, which runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays (excluding July 4).
