Osseo Senior High won the inaugural USA Powerlifting Minnesota High School State Championship. They competed against 15 schools using a Wilks score, which is a ratio of the weight lifted, compared to the body weight of the lifter.
Fifty lifters competed in 11 weight classes. Osseo produced four individual champions for varsity: Aevathana Naovalangsy in the 75kg weight class, Nicholas Norman in the 82.5kg weight class, Adeyinka Omotoinbo in the 90kg weight class, and Nash Jensen in the 125+ kg weight class.
Osseo produced two individual champions for junior varsity: Samahjay Hitchcock in the 82.5 kg weight class and Eric Oliphant in the 67.5 kg weight classes.
Adeyinka Omotoinbo was also honored as “Lifter of the Meet.”
