Earlier this month, students at Weaver Lake Elementary showed off their scientific expertise to parents and siblings at the school’s STEM in Action Fair. The event featured participation from all grades at Weaver Lake, and allowed students to highlight some of their key learnings from the first two months of school.
From kindergarteners as observers to fifth grade students as bee investigators, each grade level hosted displays and investigations that highlighted the STEM aspects of the school’s curriculum. At the fair, guests had the opportunity to visit each grade level station; learn about topics like insects, pollinators and engineering; and sample some juice box “nectar.”
Nearly 325 families attended the event. The school will next host its Family Engineering Night on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
