Belle Hulne earned a National Medal in the 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. Nearly 320,000 works of art and writing were submitted this year with less than 1 percent earning national-level recognition. Belle was awarded a Silver Medal in Art. She also won Grand Prize/Best of Show at the 3rd District Congressional High School Student Art Exhibit for her Prismacolor portrait of “Samuel.” Belle’s award came with a cash prize and trip to Washington, D.C. for the national art exhibition reception. Her artwork will be displayed in the nation’s Capitol for one year.
Mihika Murdeshwar earned Honorable Mention at the 3rd District Congressional High School Student Art Exhibit for her Prismacolor illustration entitled, “Self Portrait after Dead Pool.”
