Students bring ‘Finding Nemo Kids’ to life in spring musical performances

Students from Rice Lake Elementary School took the stage and transformed the Maple Grove Middle School auditorium into an underwater world on March 7 and March 8 in front of an audience of their families, friends and community members.

Since mid-January, students had been rehearsing their lines, choreography and musical numbers to bring characters Marlin, Nemo, Dory, Crush and more underwater friends to life on a journey under the sea.

Students from five elementary schools in the district will perform Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids on stage from February to May through the school district’s Community Education Youth Enrichment program, in partnership with Stages Theatre Company and Bunce Backyard Productions (The BEAT). This after school enrichment experience provides meaningful opportunities for students to develop their performance skills, gain self-confidence and make new friends.
