Opportunity to share thoughts on Crest View rebuild on April 23

The planning process is starting to take shape for the Crest View rebuild. Community members and staff are welcome to share their thoughts on the project at an upcoming meeting.

Share rebuild feedback at a community meeting: All Osseo Area Schools community members and staff are welcome to share their thoughts on the programming they’d like to see in the new building and how they’d like to see it designed on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:15 p.m. at Crest View Elementary School. During the meeting, architects will listen and ask questions to better understand how best to create this community space.

Background on the shift to a rebuild: During the estimation process, it was discovered that the original support systems of the school would need to be significantly renovated because of the age of the building and unknown structural issues – greatly increasing the initial cost. It was, in fact, comparably-priced to a complete rebuild of the school site. In February the school board agreed to move forward with a rebuild, which means Crest View will instead be torn down and reconstructed. This process is starting now with a tentative reopening set for fall 2027. From a financial lens, this change in direction is cost-neutral and won’t impact taxpayers.
