Building a Better Future update: preparations for spring/summer construction season in full swing
The summer 2025 construction season promises to be a busy one for Osseo Area Schools’ Building a Better Future building projects, and many important actions and decisions are taking place now to ensure work can begin on schedule. John Morstad, executive director of finance and operations, said earth work will begin on the district’s new elementary school in northwest Maple Grove early this spring. Additionally, he said bids for the Maple Grove Senior High School (MGSH) project will be awarded at the Feb. 25 school board meeting, followed by Osseo Senior High School’s (OSH) bids on March 18.
Construction at MGSH will begin in early April, with OSH beginning soon after. Other construction projects taking place this summer include: Brooklyn Middle STEAM School and the following elementary schools: Basswood, Cedar Island, Fair Oaks, Oak View, Palmer Lake, Rush Creek and Woodland.
Fourteen sites will also receive new furniture this summer, and the district’s Educational Services Center will get a maintenance facility addition to replace the maintenance space at OSH, which will be removed to make room for an auto shop addition.
