American Indian Education empowers American Indian students and their families and enhances their potential through culture-based educational programming. The program reflects key values of families and staff:

3. Importance of American Indian culture and heritage.

The goal of English Learner (EL) instruction is to support multilingual learners receiving EL Program services in achieving the English language proficiency needed to succeed academically and to realize personal, social, and career goals. EL teachers work in collaboration with both general education and specialist teachers to design a comprehensive instructional program for each student. Teachers also review data throughout the school year to determine how a student progresses through the EL program.

The goal of the Osseo Area Schools Family and Community Engagement (FACE) department is to strengthen and sustain authentic relationships within the district community. Through meaningful partnerships, FACE seeks to enable scholars to achieve their brilliance while also engaging with and holding space for the various perspectives of district families and community members.

The American Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC) helps ensure the school district is meeting the unique and culture-related academic needs of American Indian students.

This advisory committee was formed and is maintained to affirm item 3: ‘Elevate the voices of LGBTQIA+ scholars and staff to help dismantle systemic barriers in our school district by … establishing an LGBTQIA+ scholar/parent/caregiver/ally advisory group. This committee will advise our district administration and school board on structural barriers, inequities, and the lived experience of LGBTQIA+ scholars and their families.’
