Connect Program - Autism
Spectrum Disorders
Serving students with autism spectrum and communication and interaction disorders.
Age
Kindergarten through Grade 12
Eligibility
This program services students
that have demonstrated they meet educational criteria in the
area of autism
spectrum disorders and have significant educational needs. The
needs of the student require significant interventions beyond the
resource room setting. Prior to program referral, school
teams must include a district-wide Autism Resource Specialist
in providing services in least restrictive environment at the
neighborhood school.
State
Autism Eligibility Criteria
Model
This model provides a half-day of kindergarten
and a full day of special education services for Grades 1 through
12. The plan developed for each student focuses
on functional, academic, communication, social interaction,
behavioral, environmental and sensory strengths and needs.

Autism (ASD) Lending Library
The District has an ASD Lending Library with over 1, 000 books, videos, DVDs, and CDs? These materials are available to staff and parents of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders serviced through ISD #279. Materials range from early preschool years to high school and beyond.
Thanks to money donated by the Maple Grove Fire Fighters Relief Association our district has the best school ASD lending library in the state.
