ISD 279 sponsored preschools provide preparation for kindergarten in a setting where 3, 4, and 5 year olds can feel safe away from mom and dad, while learning, and having fun! Our quality preschools will stimulate your child's imagination and physical, social, and emotional development while providing opportunities for intellectual exploration. The curriculum aligns withISD 279's K-12 curriculum.

Discovery

Preschool Program

Early Childhood Family Education’s Discovery program provides a preschool experience for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. These classes enable children to build positive self images by developing their confidence, independence, social skills, and knowledge. Through play, children will be exposed to the areas of reading/math readiness, science/social studies, art/sensory, music and dramatic play. Children are supported and encouraged in their social, emotional, physical, intellectual, language and creative growth, and development. Parents attend one day each week with their child. The extended parenting time allows for “in depth” discussion on topics of choice related to the “unique” preschool years. Parents are supported as their children’s first and most important teachers.

FEE: There is a sliding fee scale based on family income.

More For 3s & 4s

Preschool Program

Preschool is not only wonderful preparation for elementary school; it's a place where young children can meet and interact, feel safe away from mom and dad, learn, and have fun! A quality preschool stimulates your child's imagination and physical, social, and emotional development. It also provides opportunities for intellectual exploration. In preschool, children learn to relate to adults outside their families and to develop their independence. Playing in a group provides children opportunities to learn how to share, take turns, cooperate, and solve problems. Playing with materials and participating in activities that are designed or selected specifically for young children helps them develop early reading, writing, science, art, math, and other skills. These activities broaden children's experiences and are springboards for later learning. Team teaching with ISD 279 special education staff occurs in some sections. Children attend mornings or afternoons 2 or 3 days a week for
2-1/2 hours a day.

FEE: 100% funded through tuition fees -- No sliding fee $1290 per year -- 2 day program (payable in quarterly payments -- first quarterly payment of $322.50 is due with registration) $1950 per year -- 3 day program (payable in quarterly payments -- first quarterly payment of $487.50 is due with registration).
