What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that learning should be interesting, challenging, and fun. Students bring their unique perspectives to the classroom and we truly can learn from each other as we learn the curriculum.
Why did you choose your profession?
I chose teaching because I like working with young people. Teaching high school students is never boring and often hilarious. I enjoy that everyday is different and that we have the opportunities to go experience so many new things through literature, projects, technology, and field trips.
What is your favorite quote?
“By endurance we conquer.” By Ernest Shackleton. I’ve coached a variety of sports, so this stands so true in that realm; however, it also stands true for life.

Advice for students going to college?
Don’t do something simply because everyone else is or others tell you to. Trust your gut; be smart; pick a major that makes you happy and you can see yourself doing.
