Language B

Where did you go to school and what is your previous job experience?

I attended the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) and I have previously worked at St. Louis Park Senior High School.

When did you begin working at Park Center?

November 1st, 2010

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that learning needs to be applicable to students’ lives, in addition to interesting and fun! I believe that there is so much to learn when acquiring another language such as grammar, syntax, etc. (which is very important), however it goes a step beyond the language itself and opens up students’ eyes to diversity and a world outside their own; this is my goal in teaching another language and culture through engaging activities.

Why did you choose your profession?

Teaching is my passion and I have wanted to be a teacher since I was young. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with my students, but also enjoy learning from them too!

What is your favorite quote?

“If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.” -Gandhi

In what room(s) can you commonly be found?

Room 208

Additional Comments(hobbies)?

I am the new dance team coach this year and am truly enjoying it! Besides that, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and husband, reading ethnographies, and traveling any chance I get (and can afford it)!

Advice for students going to college?

Work hard, stay focused and know that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Sum up your career at Park Center in one word

AMAZING!

If you were required to find a different job then what you are currently doing, what would you choose?

I would probably be a translator because I love the Spanish language in addition to helping others.
