MAPLE GROVE WOMEN OF TODAY SCHOLARSHIP                       DEADLINE: 329

 

·        $1,500 scholarship to resident of Maple Grove, preferably female.

·        Based on community service, 3.0 GPA or better and plan to attend a post-secondary institution next fall.

·        Based on essay.

·        Applications are available in the CRC or online at www.maplegrovewt.org.

 

BROOKLY CENTER LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP                             DEADLINE: 5/1

 

·        Scholarships available to residents of Brooklyn Center

·        Must have GPA between 2.0 to 3.25.

·        Based on good citizenship, history of involvement in the community, and have goals to attend a post-secondary institution.

·        Applications are available in the CRC.

 

OSSEO ESP SCHOLARSHIPS                                                                    DEADLINE: 4/6

 

·        Three $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are dependents of a District 279 ESP.

·        Student may attend any post-secondary institution including technical school.

·        Applications are available by contacting the building rep at the school where the ESP is employed or by contacting Amy Weaver at weavera@district279.org

 

RASMUSSEN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS                                            DEADLINE: 3/31

 

·        110 scholarships available to entering freshmen

·        Based on response to several short-answer questions.

SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP              DEADLINE: 5/15

 

·        Over 25 scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000 to $5,000 for women entering college next Fall in a four year baccalaureate program to study engineering or computer science. 

·        Must have minimum GPA or 3.5 to 4.0.

·        Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

OSSEO AREA RETIRED EDUCATORS’ SCHOLARSHIP                    DEADLINE: 3/25

 

·        $1,500 scholarship for district #279 senior.

·        Based on participation in school and community activities, letters of recommendation, and academic record.

·        Must attend college/university or technical school.

·        Applications are available in the CRC.

·        Two $750 scholarships available to FEMALE residents of Brooklyn Center.

·        Based on class rank, evidence of maturity, responsibility, character, leadership and financial need.

NORTH HENNEPIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP        DEADLINE: 4/1

 

·        200 scholarships ranging from $150 to $5,000 to entering freshmen at NHCC.

·        Criteria for the scholarships vary.

·        Several scholarships available to students who plan to attend a four year college, community college or career school.

IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE OF AMERICA                                              DEADLINE: 4/16

 

·        $500 scholarship to student who writes winning essay on the topic: What do you perceive as the most significant environmental issues facing our planet?

·        Must have demonstrated interest in the environment and environmental issues.

GREAT CLIPS COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS DEADLINE :5/31

 

·        $500 scholarship for student planning on attending a cosmetology or barbering school in the state of Minnesota.

·        Based on essay and letter of recommendation.

·        Applications available in the CRC.

 

SALON PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP:                        DEADLINE: 3/31

 

·        One $2,400 scholarship will be awarded for student attending the SPA next fall.

·        Based on academic performance and attendance. 

·        Applications are available in the CRC.

 

JUDY LINDMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP                                    DEADLINE: 6/1

 

·        $6,000 scholarship to student planning on pursuing a two-year associate degree in early childhood education or child development.

·        Must meet one of the following criteria: have a disability or a special need OR have a history of working directly with children (0-12) from underserved populations OR be a member of a community of color, migrant, immigrant or refugee community OR be an English as a second language leaner.

ANOKA RAMSEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE                                         DEADLINE:  4/1

FLORA ROGGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP                          DEADLINE: 3/26

 

·        Two $1,000 scholarships available to District #279 seniors or dependents of District #279 employee.

·        Must attend college of vocational school in the state of Minnesota or in a state with reciprocity.

·        Must have minimum GPA of 3.0.

·        Based on recommendations and academic achievement.

HIBBING COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP                           DEADLINE: 3/15

 

·        A variety of scholarships available for entering freshmen

·        Must have 3.00 GPA and have plans to enroll for a minimum of 6 credits at Hibbing Community College next fall.

·        Based on academic performance and promise of future performance.

MINNESOTA CLEAN AIR CHOICE SCHOLARSHIP                           DEADLINE: 4/30

 

 

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP                                 DEADLINE: 3/15

 

 

U.S. BANK AWARDS                                                                                  DEADLINE: ongoing

 

·    30 to 40 $1,000 awards available

·    Must attend four-year college next fall.

·    Selected through random drawing process running from October through March.

MNACC STUDENT OF COLOR SCHOLARSHIP                                   DEADLINE 3/26

 

·    One $500 scholarship awarded to student of color who are in pursuit of higher education in Minnesota, is a U.S. citizen (or permanent resident of ethnic minority descent.

·    Essay required

MWGA SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION                                      DEADLINE 3/31

 

·    $3000 yearly scholarship renewable for four years to a graduating girl with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

·    Scholarship based on scholastic rating, financial need, school achievements, leadership and activities. Student should have an interest or involvement in the sport
