BIBLIOGRAPHIC CITATIONS

Students should be encouraged to create a working bibliography, i.e. a list of sources from which notes are taken, when doing research. This will ensure that they have accurate and comprehensive information to work from when they have to compile a bibliography. Some teachers find it useful to provide students with blank forms to help students keep track of the resources they have used. Once they are ready to compile the bibliography, most students use one of two popular bibliographical styles, i.e. the MLA (Modern Language Association) style, or the APA (American Psychological Association).
