The best part about the track season in my opinion are the Track Meets. A typical track meet starts with the following: getting out of sixth hour. Yes, it is true; on most track meet days you get out of most if not all of your sixth hour class, sometimes even earlier! After you have been released from your obligations of school you will then head down to the locker room and get dressed and grab everything you need. With your uniform on, and possibly your handy-dandy bag-o-snacks in hand you will then head onto the bus which will take you away to your meet.
On arrival the jumpers will go and make run throughs in the pits, the vaulters will do some run throughs as well, and the throwers will go warm up for their throws. The runners will then sit down and begin to mentally prepare if they have not already done so on the bus ride. If you are scheduled to run in one of the first couple races, either the hurdles or 100m, you would be warming up on arrival as well, otherwise its back to mentally preparing...or fooling around. The meet usually runs by smooth as butter, every now and then a few things can throw it off, such as the occasional thunderstorm and random tornado, causing a period of delay.
After the meet is finished, usually upon the completion of the 4x400m relay, you will then head back on the buses and return home. Eating up whatever remaining food you have brought with you and celebrating if you won.

Track meets usually last for quite a long time. Ranging from getting back at school to around 7:00 to actually leaving the meet around 8:00! Just hope you don't have much homework that day. Considering you can easily get out of school for a good 10+ meets in a track season, sometimes you don't see much of your 6th hour class.
