Helpful Hints

The following will be a helpful list of things you should do for the track season for it to be as successful a year as possible for you.
  1. Always bring food and drink with to meets!!!
  2. Take practices seriously, if you want to succeed.
  3. Bring with some sort of mp3 player or cd player on meet days, it helps mentally prepare you.
  4. Find a friend to run track with you who enjoys the same events you do.
  5. Don't drink pop if you are a runner, especially not the night before or day of the meet.

  6. Carbo load the day before the meets and eat a good hearty breakfast the day of.
  7. It seems over the years one of the many laws of the track is, the lazier you are the faster your run, you ask how this is possible...I myself cannot explain it, but it has been proven through and through throughout my years as a Track participant.
  8. Track spikes are very helpful, and considering you can get a nice cheap pair from sportsmart for like $25 you should be set.
  9. On the day before the track meet, check with your teacher to see what you're going to miss.
  10. Drink lots of water all the time to stay hydrated, maybe even bring a water bottle to carry around at school.
