A SLR (single lens reflex) camera is a camera that is adjustable. You can adjust the shutter speed (how fast it takes the picture) and the aperture (how big the hole is to change how much light it lets in). An SLR gives you more choices for what you want to do with the camera. You can change the lenses and get completely different pictures by using different lenses like zoom lenses and wide-angle lenses. The lenses go on and come off easily so you can change them quickly, however, additional lenses for a camera can be expensive. You can also buy close up rings so you can get things close up and still in focus. An SLR camera is different from a regular camera in that it uses a mirror to take pictures. With an SLR what you see is what you get, unlike regular cameras, which, especially if you take a close up picture, could appear different then what you were looking at when you took it-you don’t actually look through the lens that takes the picture in a regular camera. An SLR camera has split-image focus, which you can tell is in focus by when the image in the middle is the same as the image in the rest of the view or when it looks clear. Also while looking through the view finder there will be a light meter so you can tell when you’re letting in enough light.
works- you can see the mirror.
