How to Start Writing

Believe it or not, writing is surprisingly easy to do. All one needs is a pencil and something to write on. A wall would suffice, but that is graffiti, and this school does not endorse that art form. This school does support a newspaper. The newspaper is a rather powerful invention, it allows individuals to spread their ideas to many without losing their voice. The newspaper is also a great way of spreading news. Even without a newspaper you can still write and distribute your works, but it is slightly more difficult. No writing can happen if there are no ideas to think of, but the world is not at a loss for ideas.
First of all, everyone has an opinion. So think about what you think about. Do you find yourself thinking about the possibility of ghosts roaming the hallways? Do you think about how a specific course is the spawn of demons? Do you think about how to memorize long complicated formulea? The stats of sports teams, the age of the world, the events coming up, the events long past, the natural number raised to the power of an imaginary number and pi, the price of tea in China? Well, if you do... then write about it. Not only write, but talk to other people, interview others. If you might think there is a ghost, talk to the science teachers to learn more about possible supernatural events. Talk to an economics teacher about the price of tea in China, talk to the sports coaches about how their teams are doing. The limit is the sky, but not even the sky, you can write about space travel if you want.
The point is, there are many ideas out in the world. The greatest source of ideas is the world around you. There is no need for grand fantasies when you realize how little you really know. Think, write, investigate, interview, write, polish, finish. Those are merely one set of steps you can take to writing. Every day, at least one person is presented with a blank paper, told to write, and cannot think of anything to write about. Do not be this person, just simply think, sit back, and let your mind wander.
