The way the marching band stands is called standing at attention. When standing at attention, your feet are together, hips thrust forward, shoulders thrust back. You are not allowed to move or make any noise whatsoever. It's a difficult thing to be sure, and the marching band tends to do this for 20 minute intervals, sometimes even longer.
