Godspell is a musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tabelak and was originally performed off Broadway on May 17, 1971. It contains a series of parables which are mainly based on the Gospel of Mattew (as well as some from the Gospel of Luke.) It contains two acts and a wide variety of characters.
