Exercise IEB

Before you begin, Create a new folder in your Exercise Folder. Name the folder Firstname.LastName.exieb. Go View Source...Save As(in Notepad) this html document into the folder.

#1. Open up Photoshop. Go to the exercises folder on the server and right mouse click on the Layers Tutorial folder. Choose Copy. Left Click. This copies that folder to the clipboard of your computer. Now, navigate to your exercises folder. Right mouse click in the white area of the large exercises window. Select Paste. Left click. This will put a copy of the layers tutorial in your exercises folder.

#2. In Photoshop, open up the Layers Tutorial folder and open up figure. The different objects(vest, shoe, shirt, smile, pants, basket, etc.) are all layers. Click on the various layers(objects) and move them around(using the Move Tool) until you are familiar with with the layers. Try to determine which layer is on top of which.

#3. Get rid of the hat. Delete the layer called Hat.

#4. Open up the file called Hats in the layers tutorial. Choose the round hat in the middle. Select it, copy, and paste it into your original figure so the dude has a new hat.

#5. Change the guys shorts to a bright red color using whatever technique you want.

#6. Paint a belly button on to his wooden abdomen.

#7. Your last task is to rearrange the guy so that he is laying on the sand about to be washed away. Leave him naked except for his new hat and belly button and a smile. Delete his picnic basket. All of his clothes should be scattered in the greyish white waves except his shoe. The shoe floating flat on the water on the horizon.

#6. When you have your art work just the way you want it, go Layer... Flatten Image. This will combine all of your layers into one. Save it as a jpg and write the code to make it appear to the right of this paragraph.

Save this image when you are done. Save it as a JPEG image into your folder. Do a File....Save for the Web....Firstname.Lastname.exieb.JPG. Copy/Paste your entire firstname.lastname.exieb folder into the Rholl/Exercise IEB turnin folder on the server.
