| Technique Presented: April 13th, 2009 |
| 1. Creat a new file (File>New) Click on 'Default Photoshop Size'. |
| 2. Using the Gradient Tool to make the background. Click on the colors and change to (#000000 & #0072BC) and click 'Ok.' |
| 3. Make sure to change the linear Gradient to Radial Gradient. Holding down shift, you want to click and drag a straight line towards the center down. |
| 4. Duplicate the background you just made and change that layer's blending mode to Color Dodge. Change the Opacity to 30%. |
| 5. We're going to make a texture for the background. Make a new layer . Set the default background to black and white. Go to (Filter>Render>Clouds). Then go to (Filter>Sketch>Chrome) set Details:5 and Smoothness: 10. Set blending mode to Soft Light and Opacity to 30%. |
| 6. Click on your Pen Tool. If you need some help with this tool, there are some tutorials on how to use this tool on YouTube. Now we're going to make a 'S' curve, make sure to change Shape Layers to Path before you start making the curves. For the 'S' I've only use 3 points, Starting, Ending, and in Between to make that curve or blend. |
| 7. Make a new layer. Then click on the Paint Brush Tool. You want to change the Size:3px and Hardness:100% |
| 8. Switch back to Pen Tool, you must switch this tool to do the next step. Right-click and click on Stroke Path, a box should pop up. Choose Brush and make sure to check Simulate Pressure and 'ok.' |
| 9. Right-click again and select Delete Path. You should have a thin curvy, smooshy line. |
| 10. Now you want to create a glow effect. Go to (Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options). Click on Drop Shadow. Change Blend Mode to Color Dodge. Change the color black to #FECH00 or any color you want. Change Distance:0px, and Size:6px. Don't forget to change the Contour to Half Round. |
| 11. Next, click on Outer Glow. You could change the color if you like, but I'll keep it the way it is and click 'ok'. |
| 12. You could also add colors. Make new layer. Click on the Gradient Tool and select whatever colors you want. After creating the Gradient color on to your layer, you want to change the Blend Mode to Color and Opacity to 30% that way it will blend the colors together. |
