Keyboarding
This course is designed for the student with computer and keyboarding
knowledge who wants/needs to practice and improve
correct keyboarding techniques, skill development, proofreading,
basic English skills and learn to format a basic letter and
report. You will learn strategies to keyboard quickly and accurately
by using the 'touch' method for personal, career or college
bound use. This course may explore the voice recognition features
of a personal computer. It is recommended you take Business
Communications A to learn how to format letters, reports,
resumes, etc.
Business Communications
Prerequisites: Keyboarding or permission of instructor.
By completing Business Communications A, you will have the
knowledge to use the computer as a tool for your personal, career
and college computer needs. You will use a word processing
program to learn how to format personal and business letters,
memorandums, electronic mail, reports, outlines, tables and
job application documents. Composition and English skills will
also be emphasized. You will also increase your keyboarding
speed to become more proficient. Business Communications B
could be taken to build additional skills for your future career
and professional development.
Begining Computers and Keyboarding
Note: Not a prerequisite for Keyboarding course.

This course focuses on very basic computer use and troubleshooting
for students with limited or no computer experience.
You will identify major computer parts and terms, successfully
access a network, navigate a computer desktop, learn and use
proper keyboarding technique with letter/number/symbol keys,
and use word processing software to manipulate documents.
This course will prepare you to succeed in other computer
courses, as well as at home and in the world of work.
