This book was writen by tim O' brien as kinda an autobiography he changed the names of his friends but it all happened to him. this book is interesting to read because he paints a very vivid picture of what the war was like. Some of the chapters are kinda poetic in a way like the chapter "the man i killed" where he talked about the first man that he killed and that he shouldn't have even been there in the first place. overall the book is fantastic and a real disturbing look into what the vietnam war was like and how dangerous it was.

This is the first book written by Khaled and it is a real look at growing up in the middle east at a level none of us could ever begin to understand, how it is a good place when he is a child but when he returns thirty-forty years later the land is transformed and you feel his anguish at the violence and torment people go through and are subject to.
