SENIORS and GRADUATION INFORMATION

Information regarding graduation will be communicated via the Ship to Shore and on the Park Center website as the school year progresses. The 2008 graduation ceremony will be held at the Target Center on Sunday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m.

Note: Important Commencement Information

All seniors who complete the graduation requirements on time are encouraged to participate in the ceremony. Students must complete all the credit requirements, all Advisory units, and pay all fines. The School Board approved a Commencement Participation Fee that will be collected in April.

PCSH provides all students participating in commencement with a cap, gown, and tassel. Honor students must purchase the gold tassel if they wish to wear it. If your student has not ordered a cap and gown and plans to participate in commencement, please contact Jennifer Ajsenberg at 763-569-7619 or ajsenbergj@district279.org as soon as possible.

PSEO and OALC students are responsible for graduation deadlines and for obtaining important graduation information from PCSH. Students should plan on attending an important senior class meeting on Monday, May 5, 2008 beginning at 10:15 a.m. in the auditorium to receive information about the graduation ceremony. There will also be a graduation practice on Friday, May 23, starting at 10:15 a.m. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Ajsenberg at 763-569-7619. Watch for a detailed informational letter to be mailed home in the spring.

SENIOR CLASS ALL NIGHT PARTY INFORMATION

Registration cost and dates: $45.00 if paid by February 1/$50.00 if paid February 4 – May 2/$55.00 cash only on the night of the party. [Students registered by May 2 are guaranteed a gift bag]

Seniors: The Senior All Night Party is approaching quickly! This year’s theme is “STARS of 2008.” The night will include a DJ, a hypnotist, games, fabulous food and incredible prizes. Have you turned in your registration forms yet? Do you need to politely remind your parents/guardians to mail it in to school? Don’t miss out on this incredible memory filled evening!

Parents/Guardians of Seniors: Committee members have been planning since September 2007 for the Senior All Night Party, and we anticipate a spectacular evening! Party information and a registration form was mailed to your home in December. Extra forms are available in the PC office. With a graduating class of almost 500 students, we need your help! Whether it is a donation of time, money, prizes or packaged food, it will be greatly appreciated!

Decorations: The decorating committee has started “building” for the party and can use any and all help. Some time helping is better than none! If you have supplies of lumber, paint, fabric, etc. that you would like to donate, please contact either:
Jill Barrett Vardsveen (763-493-5943/jillbvhome@yahoo.com) or
Mary DeMorett (763-425-0455/mdemorett@hayscompanies.com).

Fundraising: We have some FUN upcoming fundraising events. The first is a day of food, fun and family at Sammy Perrella’s on Monday, February 25. Fifteen percent of the food and drink sales that day will be donated to Park Center for the All Night Party. Please mention that you are with Park Center when ordering your food so that we get the credit. Sammy Perrella’s is located at the corner at Zane Avenue North and Oak Grove Parkway, just north of 610. Hours are 11:00 am to midnight. Their phone number is 763-493-5920.

Come on out and enjoy some good food and support the All Night Party!

The All Night Party Committee is also looking for volunteers to work at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We are scheduled to work quite a few fun events at the Convention Center. We are looking for volunteers to work the Camping Show on February 8 and 9, the Home and Garden Show on March 1 and 2, the Auto Show on March 8, 9, 15, and 16, and the Sport Show on April 5 and 6.

Working at the Convention Center involves selling food/concessions from a stand. No training is required. The Convention Center treats their volunteers very well by providing them with a home cooked meal and a chance to tour the shows after your shift is done.

Please consider working one of these FUN events! Call Yvonne Carter at 763-493-4367 or Diane Haug at 763-561-8356 to volunteer.

Party Night: Also, please note that since this is an “all night” party, we need volunteers all night also! Our big concern is that sophomores and juniors are still in school on June 2nd, and we have to have the entire party area torn down and cleaned up by 6:45 a.m.! Please consider helping at all hours of the party if possible.

Thank you for volunteering to help make this party a success!
