The Invisible Rights group is
sponsoring one final food drive for the Brooklyn Park “No Barriers” youth food
shelf located in the united Methodist Church. Please bring items to your
advisory class. Students will come by on
Thursday, May 24, to pick up items.
High need items include: juice, grab-and-go snacks, hygiene items, size 5
diapers – but any item will be accepted. The first prize is a pizza party
and the second prize will be bagels and juice.

Applications for the 2012-2013
Junior Class Cabinet are now available in the Student Support office. All
10th graders interested in being a part of the group should apply! Applications are due no later than Tuesday, May 29.
·
Every
morning, students will be dismissed promptly from the cafeteria at 7:25
to 1st hour. Lunch lines will close at 7:20.
Students who wish to eat breakfast must get in line immediately upon their
arrival to the cafeteria.
·
SENIORS! Come
to the Student Support Office during passing time or lunch and get your star to
put on the “Senior Stars of 2012” board! It’s a chance for you to offer your
final farewell to Park Center.
·
Attention all Juniors! If
you are interested in becoming a member of the Senior Class Cabinet class of
2013, applications are now available outside of room 104. Please see Mr.
Sauter for any further questions.
·
Remember to bring elevator
passes back to the nurse’s office on the date they are due. If
you’re not sure when your elevator pass is due, please stop at the nurse’s
office during your lunch or passing time to find out. Also, please be
sure to pick up your medications before the last day of school.
·
Planning on a party or
treats? Don’t forget the paper products. The kitchen supplies
paper products with the Food Order from the kitchen. Otherwise, there is
a charge for any paper or plastic supply request(s). Thank you and have a great
summer.

Summer school credit recovery
applications are now available from the counseling department. If you are a
student still in need of one or more 9th grade credits, please make
an appointment with your counselor for information and registration.
News from the CRC:
·
Meet the Admissions reps from Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, and
Stanford Universities! There will be a student/parent information
session Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis Marriott
City Center, 30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402 to visit
with admissions representatives. Additional information is available at www.exploringcollegeoptions.org.

There
will be a representative from the Exploring program in the cafeteria on May 24 to provide information to
students interested in careers in law enforcement, health services, engineering
and fire. The Exploring program provides students with the opportunity to
“shadow” and learn from professionals in these different career areas.

SENIORS! Please remember
to report any scholarships you have been awarded to the CRC—even those you
choose NOT to accept. We are compiling a list of scholarships awarded to
the senior class for inclusion in the graduation bulletin.

SENIORS! Come to the CRC during passing time or lunch and get your
star to put on the “Senior Stars of Today and Tomorrow” window!

There
are a variety of scholarships still available for male students entering the U
of M Twin Cities next fall. Applications are available in the CRC.
·
Information about the University of Wisconsin precollege and summer camps
for youth in grades PK-12 is available at uwhelp.wisconsin.edu/precollege.
Session topics include science, math, art, music, athletics, and more. Internet
access is not required to register for precollege programs or to apply for the
DPI scholarship. UW HELP advisers are available to speak directly with
interested parents and students to assist with the precollege registration
process and DPI scholarship application at 800.442.6459.

Attention next year’s SENIORS: Harvey Mudd College 5th Annual Fall
*FAST* (Future Achievers in Science and Technology) Program, September 14-15,
is a free program for participants, including all meals, and travel expenses
(if applicable). You must submit an unofficial high school transcript with your
application. Click the How to Apply tab to access the application…applications
will begin to be accepted on July 5. Fall FAST Program
participants will also receive a fee waiver for their 2013 freshman
