Congratulations to Faruq Karim on winning this year's 2007 Yale Book Award. This award is given to high school juniors in the Twin Cities area and other parts of Minnesota. The student must be recommended for this award by their principal and counselor. The student must show outstanding personal character and intellectual promise to get recommended.
This year, Park Center recommended Faruq Karim to represent the school for the award. Faruq demonstrates superior excellence by being in ALP and HP classes and is in the top 7% of the junior class. He participates in band, marching band, Junior Cabinet and will take part in NHS next year. In his spare time, he is part of Police Explorers program, the mock trial team, is a volunteer teacher at his church, does park clean-ups, and works part time at Walgreens. Faruq plans on pursuing a career in law or medicine. Way to go Faruq!
