ASIAN CLUB SOARS TO NEW HEIGHTS

The Park Center Asian Club capped off a busy year of activities with a trip to Camp Ihduhapi for some team building and high-rope activities. Ten students and two teachers learned the fundamentals of tethered climbing, then scaled the 35-foot pole to engage in the various challenges and activities that awaited them high in the trees.

“The time I had there was great,” said senior Lajly Yang. “What are the chances that you get to see grown men scream like girls and girls scream like Tarzan. I highly recommend that others come on this activity next year.”

10th grader Senita Vang, who hold the record for most mosquito bites, said, “Being able to face my fears was really cool. Now I won’t be so afraid of heights. And, on top of that, it was awesome!”

The Park Center Asian Club combines fun activities like their annual cook-off, an end-of-year picnic, haunted hayride, rollerblading at the Metrodome, theater trips and YMCA camp adventures with fundraisers at Cub Foods and service projects at Feed My Starving Children.

This year’s picnic will be a joint venture with the Latino Club and promises to be even more fun, plus the thrill of an Asian/Latino club soccer game.
