On May 2nd Mrs. Maxwell’s Animal Studies class was invited by Mr. Nicholson’s ELL Biology Students to visit the Minnesota Zoo. The trip was funded by a grant through the Osseo School District. The students began their trip in small groups, performing a “Getting Acquainted” activity. After the activity students roamed about Discovery Bay attempting a scavenger hunt. In Discovery Bay students were able to pet sharks, starfish, and sea anemones. After finishing with the sea animals, students started heading out to different areas, taking one of the many wildlife trails found at the Minnesota Zoo. At the end of the day, the classes headed back to the Discovery Bay to watch the dolphin show. The weather was favorable for this field trip and everyone had lots of fun.
