Volunteers do many things to help around the school such as putting mail into the teacher mailboxes.
Park Center students are great volunteers. In the 2004/2005 school year, PC students gave over 12,000 volunteer hours to our schools and community. Many of our students volunteering at other schools in the district provide childcare for meetings and assist with after school tutoring. Many of our students volunteer for special events such as carnivals, turkey bingo, Secret Santa, making Christmas gifts and ornaments, Halloween parties and they provide a challenge for the participants in the elementary schools’ chess clubs. Our students visit with the residents at the assisted living facilities, play games and provide musical entertainment. PC students also provide peer tutoring for fellow students. Some of our students are student aides for teachers here at PC or they help out in one of the offices. Without our students volunteering, many programs would not be successful. Thank you to all and keep up the great effort.

All students, grades 10 - 12 are eligible for this Youth Service Program. When a student has accumulated 15 volunteer hours per trimester, it will be recorded on the student’s transcript. Volunteer hours can be very beneficial when applying for scholarships or employment.

The Volunteers at Park Center are always working.

What has your volunteer experience been like?
It’s been a great way to make new friends and learn new things. Volunteering teaches you how to interact with people of all ages. For me, it’s been a wonderful experience.

Why do you volunteer?
I like to volunteer because it is fun and I like helping people. Also, when you have lots of volunteer hours, you are a good candidate for scholarships and awards.
