That’s right! It's time for Hoops for Hearts again! This will be Park Centers 6th year of being involved with Hoops for Hearts. Don’t know what Hoops for Hearts is? Don’t worry, you’ll see. Hoops for Hearts is a fund raiser created by the American Heart Association.

The way Hoops for Hearts works at Park Center is that the Student Advisory Council, along with Mr.Kallevig, organizes a raffle drawing. They sell raffle tickets at basketball games and eventually sell tickets at lunch. They’re sold for $1. Parents, teachers, students and everyone who attends PC or the school basketball games can buy them.

Now you’re probably asking why should I buy raffle tickets? Well... I'll tell you. There are 2 reasons... The main reason is to raise funds for development in heart related science, such as cures for heart disease and ways to prevent many heart related illnesses and diseases.

Perhaps a more selfish reason to buy a ticket is the prizes donated to us from miscellaneous stores and places in the local area. (Some of the prizes include an autographed basketball signed by the Timberwolves, Authentic Vikings Jersey signed by Erasmus James, a 27-inch Sony TV, gift certificates for various amounts to places such as Dairy Queen, and much more!) The winners of the raffle drawing are announced at the Teachers vs. Students basketball game on February 16th, 2006.
Be sure to attend the Teacher vs. Students basketball game.

Last year Park Center raised over $3000 dollars for Hoops for Hearts. This year they would like to raise even more than that! So, consider attending basketball games and buy raffle tickets (Either at the game or at lunch) and then attend the Teacher V Students basketball game (February 16th! Don’t forget it!) and support Hoops for Hearts!
