Acting is a great way to meet new people and have a lot of fun. The actors are the on-stage talent who perform using their voices and bodies. It requires a lot of commitment and courage (since you'll be on stage in front of hundreds of people at times) but you don't have to think you're a good actor to join. The experience will teach you everything you need to know and we don't want to discourage anyone from joining.

One drawback to acting is that there are only so many roles per play. Great actors are often turned away from the plays because there is no space for them. If you try out and don't make it, don't worry. There's always next time. Or, you can do what many people do and join tech.
