Strategies:
Value diverse family experiences and perspectives
Engage a variety of learners by including experiential, hands-on methods
Offer a wide variety of challenging and engaging courses in Foods and Nutrition, Consumer Education, Fashion and Interior Design, Child Development, and Interpersonal Relationships.
Offer certification and articulate with post secondary institutions whenever possible.
Use teaching and learning strategies that allow students to practice and refine collaborative commnication skills
Provide Lab based experiences for application of FACS content and core skills
Incorporate the decision making process, design cycle and scientific method strategies to empower students to assess and evaluate the choices in their lives
Encourage evaluation and management of personal wellness through relevant and research based information including nutrition, family financial literacy, relationships, parenting, communication
