The North View World Affairs Challenge Team competed Saturday at Macalester College and came in 2nd place in two categories: Most Creative Presentation, Junior Division and Best Formal Presentation, Junior Division.

The team - Mary Falowo, Valentine Irungu, Beldina Mongare,and Yvonne Nyatichi - prepared a news cast on the sobbering topic of human trafficking.  They were articulate in their explanation of the problem, astute in their suggested solutions, and professional throughout.

The competition also included a world affairs test and a collaborative question (with students from different schools) dealing with the global problem of refugees.  In addition to the actual competition, students had the privilege to hear an opening speech by Congresswoman Betty McCollum and a closing speech by Senator Amy Klobuchar.
