Through a generous donation from an individual in our community MGSH will be awarding four scholarships to students in the graduating class of 2010.

One $5,000 scholarship & Two $2,500 scholarship -students pursuing a 4 year degree

$1,000 scholarship - students pursing a technical or community college degree.

Criteria: A complete personal statement (no longer than 500 words) which includes the following;

examples of where you applied concepts learned in school and/or other real life events, post high school goals, leadership, extra curricular activities, demonstration of need. Additional information is highly suggested:  resume, transcript, and a letter of recommendation. Final candidates will be interviewed to determine the scholarship recipients.

Applications must be returned to CRC by 2:00 March 10, 2010.

Students of color who will be attending any accredited 4-year college or University in the US.

Outstanding students playing for one of our athletic teams and is on top of his or her game when it comes to academics, sports and community service has a chance at one of 25 student athletes to win a $7,500 scholarship, a trip to Disney World and a spot in a special Milk Mustache ad to run in USA Today.

  • MaxPreps/Army National Guard Citizen Athlete Scholarship

Earn a $2,500 scholarship to each of the top five young men and top five young women in the country!

Requirements: be a high school student, participate on a spots team covered by MaxPreps.  Program is looking for student-athletes who are model citizens in all areas of life, community service, academics, athletics and school involvement. Entries must be submitted before March 12, 2010

  • Plymouth Rotary Club Scholarship

(3) $1,500 scholarship The scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors, who either live in the City of Plymouth, who have demonstrated leadership ability and desire to pursue further education.  Student's must have 3.0 GPA, US citizenship, not be a direct descendant of an active Rotarian, demonstrate financial need.

  • 2010 Youth Scholarship Program for Young People Who are Cancer Patients/Survivors

Limited number of scholarships will be awarded this year for students enrolled in a University, College, Technical or Vocational School under the age of 25. Eligibility Guidelines can be found in web page along with the application process which requires physician verification statement, one letter of recommendation, essay, and photo.  Selection for the scholarship will be based on students commitment to academic or vocational goals, current financial need, leadership and community service.  Preference will be given to first time scholarship applicants.  Deadline for all applications is:March 15, 2010

Eligibility: High school seniors who have strong academic records and considerable volunteer community service experience.

Award of $3,000/year renewable for four years.  Selected on the basis of: academic achievement, financial need, quality of character demonstrated by civic and academic activities, interest or involvement in the sport of golf, even though skill or excellence in the game is not a criterion.  Requirements: Senior girl with GPA at or above 3.2, U.S. citizen, female resident of the state of MN, complete FAFSA, enrolled or about to enroll in an accredited college for four consecutive years.

(5) $1,000 Scholarships to Maple Grove Senior High seniors (3 scholarships to students attending Technical college in fall 2010 pursing a mechanical/electrical engineering degree or environmental program; 2 scholarship will be given to students attending a 4 yr pursing a mechanical/electrical engineering degree or environmental program) 

Recipients of the award will be selected based on their leadership abilities, academic performance, career interest, work experience as well as financial need.

  • Osseo Area Retired Educators' Scholarship

The scholarship of $1,500 will be presented to one graduating senior from each of the District 279 High Schools,who will be entering any college, university or technical college.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5

(2) $1,000 scholarships to be used for college or vocational education in Minnesota or states with reciprocity.

Students must be a graduating senior from MGSH, OSH, PCSH, OALC or a graduating dependent of a District 279 employee with a 3. GPA and must attend a MN college or vocational school or a scool in states with reciprocity.

(3) $1,000 scholarships available for a male high school senior who is planning to attend the UM-TC fall 2010.

  • Juliet Evans Nelson Scholarship for Outstanding Youth Volunteerism

Junior who is making a difference through volunteering has opportunity to be recognized with a $2,500 scholarship to be applied to post-secondary education and will be required to coordinate a United Way Caring Connection volunteer project with his or her school or community group during the 2010-2011 school year.

Eligibility be a high school junior 2009-2010, entering post-secondary education in 2011, live and volunteer in Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Scott or western Washington county.

Eligibility for $1,500 scholarship; high school senior, preference for female, that resides in Maple Grove and is on track for graduation by June 2010 with a B or higher academic average, post-secondary educational plans, committed to community service and understands benefits of volunteerism.

College scholarships up to $5,000 per year annually through graduation from two or four year school to children of working parents who have been killed or injured on the job.

  • Must be a Minnesota or Wisconsin resident between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of the application.

$1,000 tuition scholarship to a MGSH student to be applied directly to the college or university of your choice to pursue a degree in engineering, science, or mathematics.

Requirements: graduating senior in good standing with a 3.0 GPA with a ACT of at least 21, accepted by a college or university of your choice in engineering, science, or mathematics.
