ISD 279 – Osseo Area Schools is an award-winning school system that inspires and prepares all students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.
The district serves more than 21,000 students, early childhood through grade 12, in 17 elementary schools (PreK-6), four junior highs (7-9), three senior highs (10-12), an area learning center, two early childhood centers, two special program sites, and an adult education/enrollment center. Community classes serve lifelong learners from birth through senior citizens.

Regardless of where students live, if they are enrolling in school for the first time, were previously enrolled in a different school district, or returning after being out of school, ISD 279 – Osseo Area Schools can provide the educational opportunities that will meet their needs.
KINDERGARTEN
A world of exciting learning adventures is waiting for your kindergarten student in ISD 279 – Osseo Area Schools. Our kindergarten program stimulates academic, social, and emotional development; kindles language skills; and expands physical and intellectual growth. We know parents value choice, so we offer several kindergarten options (options vary by school): traditional Half-Day Kindergarten, Full-Day Kindergarten, or our tuition-based Kindergarten Extra program.

SCHOOL CHOICE – Explore other opportunities.
Students that desire new educational challenges, convenience in school location, or a familiar learning environment, can find various educational options in ISD 279 – Osseo Area Schools. In the Osseo Area Schools, students can choose to attend their assigned attendance area school, a specialty themed magnet school, or another ISD 279 school outside of their attendance area.
School Choice is for students that would like to attend an ISD 279 school of their choice (including current students that wish to return to their assigned attendance area school because they are currently enrolled in a different ISD 279 school through school choice).
An on-site immunization clinic, provided by the Northwest Hennepin Family Services Collaborative, offers eligible students free immunizations, including – baby shots, school shots, and shots for green cards requirements. The clinic also provides assistance with accessing local health care, health insurance, employment, and other community resources.
The NW Immunization Clinic is funded through contributions from: the Park Nicollet Foundation, Boston Scientific Foundation, McKesson Foundation, CVS Caremark, Osseo Area Schools, N|W Hennepin Family Services Collaborative, and NW Resources for Families.
