Human Sexuality Curriculum
Advisory Committee
To provide input to ISD 279 curriculum writing teams in the areas of human sexuality and sexually transmitted infections.
HSAC Function
During pre-assessment, assessment and development phases of the Health Program Improvement Cycle
- Review current curriculum , enrollment data and parent survey information in the areas of human sexuality and sexually transmitted infections
- Develop recommendations for curriculum revision, materials and parent survey in the areas of human sexuality and sexually transmitted infections
Membership
HSAC membership is based on interest, not educational expertise. Members include one parent/guardian representative from each elementary building, up to two parent/guardian representatives from each secondary building and one student representative from each ISD 279 high school. A nonvoting designee of the Superintendent will function as a liaison among the Superintendent, the advisory committee and writing teams.
Length of Term
The length of term is two years; terms may be extended or renewed upon request from the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Standards.
Meeting Schedule
Meetings will take place in October and February from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center. Additional meetings or extended meetings may be required.
