Community Education Program
Advisory Council (CEPAC)
Purpose:
The purpose of this organization is to:
- assist in the development of ISD 279's
community education program;
- promote citizen involvement in the planned activities
of community education;
- improve communications between school and community;
- provide for effective communication and support between other community education
sub-committees, advisory councils or task forces; and
- cooperate with other
civic, faith, service, and governmental organizations to provide for the needs
of the community.
Membership:
Membership consists of representatives from schools and the community-at-large
and will be chosen on their interest in community education and willingness to
be an active participant of CEPAC.
Membership is composed of:
- One representative from each school or site
- Members at large acting as representatives of the ISD
279 Board of Education, faith community, service and civic organizations, parks
and recreation, school principals, seniors, youth, and interested citizens
- The Director of Community Education and Services, acting
as an advisor.
Terms:
Members will be appointed for a two-year renewable term. Terms begin in September
and run through August. If a member cannot fulfill his/her term, a successor
will be appointed.
Responsibilities:
- Attend CEPAC meetings of the full council.
- Report CEPAC information back to the learning site,
organization, or committee which the member represents.
