Osseo Area Schools’ Technology Leadership Team Wins Statewide Leadership Award
This visionary approach to implementing education technology earned the team the honor of being named the Technology Leadership Team in a statewide contest. The contest, sponsored by TIES, recognizes a school district team that has had a significant impact on technology's role in transforming learning. The ISD 279 team demonstrated leadership in applying technology to increase student learning opportunities and access; created communication vehicles that help teachers, parents and school leaders work together to engage students in learning; used technology to provide best-practice solutions; made a difference by creating major change in the district; and developed effective community partnerships that provide connectivity to learners. Team members include Lisa Finsness, Director of Instructional Media and Technology; Ryan Semans, Technology Integration Collaborative Teacher; Amy Kretsch, Technology Integration Collaborative Teacher; Darrell Olson, Technology Integration Collaborative Teacher; Mary Klauk, former Technology Integration Collaborative Teacher; and Melissa Benson, Educational Support Professional. The Osseo TICT Team was honored at an awards banquet at TIES 2007 Education Technology Conference on December 9. The Technology Integration Collaborative Teachers (TICT) Team of ISD 279-Osseo Area Schools decided three years ago to transform teaching and learning by coaching teachers and supporting them in creating more interactive learning environments. Since then, this highly effective initiative has reached more than 330 teachers and 15,000 students, and continues to grow.
