| At Weaver Lake Elementary, students in grades 4-6 are eligible to be a student council representative. Each classroom has two representatives. These places are chosen in a classroom election. The Student council meets monthly, and each meeting is about 45 minutes. Student council has many goals that they want to achieve. They want to provide opportunities to learn and practice leadership skills and the democratic process. They want to improve communication between students, staff, and parents. They also want to encourage school and community spirit and pride among the entire school body. Another thing they want to do is facilitate a spirit of volunteerism and service in the school. To be a student council representative, they have to be able to do many things. They are willing to help others and are willing to share ideas. They work cooperatively on projects with other students. They demonstrate responsibility. Student Council Representatives show Weaver Lake SPIRIT!
