PTO Meeting Minutes: May 14, 2007 Attendees: Todd Tischer, Lina Mraz, Mixay Phommasouvanh, Denise Karngbaye, Yia Xiong, Henry Yang, Enedina Guzman, Kim Winkelman, Julie Linder, Tonya Allen Treasurer's Report : Kim Winkelman Carnival made a profit of $1212.69 We sold $3475.50 for Club's Choice. Our profit is usually about 50%. We did have to deduct $63.50 in bad checks. Box Tops: We received a check for $419.24 Dominos: We received a check for $32.00 Our current balance is $20,827.80 Club's Choice pick-up is Thursday, May 17 th from 3:15p - 5:30p in the cafeteria. Officers for next year: We formally elected Amy Watkins for president and Kim Winkelman for Treasurer for the 2007-2008 school year. Kim and Amy will attend the Family Project meeting this Thursday, May 17 th to talk about PTO and to ask parents to consider "shadowing" them next year to learn and become more involved. They will also ask parents what direction they would like to see PTO go. Site Council: Todd Tischer Site Council is a group of Garden City staff members and parents who look at student achievement, help set school goals and look at the compensatory money we have and determine how it would be best spent. Amy Watkins and Henry Yang are the current parent representatives. They are willing to stay on if there aren't other parents interested and if the by-laws allow it. Principal's Report: Todd Tischer Family Night for K-2 is this Thursday, May 17 th from 5:30p - 7:00p Quality Fair is May 24 th from 5:30p - 7:00p. Student's work will be displayed for families to see. Safety drills will be taking place the next couple of weeks. Each year we need to do 5 fire drills and 5 lock down drills. The last day of school is June 7 th . The students will be dismissed at 12:40p, after eating lunch. Volunteer Report: Julie Linder The last parent volunteer work day for the year is May 25 th from 9:30a-11:30a. All are welcome to join us to work on projects for staff while we visit and have refreshments. |
