Garden City Character Committee Charge Statement 2005-2006 |
The focus areas for the Character Committee for 2005-06:
- Development of ideas and strategies to manage students who go to problem solving repeatedly
- Continue Respect, Responsibility, Belong, Effort, Consistency, Quality-(share Quality, Effort, Consistency with academic committee?)
- Review and maintain building-wide consistent indoor recess expectations
- Responsive classroom updates
- To revise the student behavior booklet and severe behavior slips to be aligned with District Policy Procedures
Tasks for Development of ideas and strategies to manage students who go to problem solving repeatedly
- Meet with grade level teams to collect ideas of how individual teachers are managing students who repeatedly go to problem solving now (how to document, individual behavior plan, etc)
- Reexamine ideas printed in character booklet
- Share ideas with total staff

- Monthly skits to model expectations for studen

Tasks for Indoor recess behavior expectations
- Review expectations
- Continue to monitor/ track behavior results/ gather feedback from staff
Tasks for Responsive Classroom training
- Encourage all staff members to get training
- Coach/ mentor staff, paras, and volunteers
- Write a staff development grant to support additional training
- Explore and share funding possibilities
